About WEBP to PNG
WEBP to PNG converts WebP files to PNG. WebP is a modern web image format that can be lossy or lossless and supports transparency and animation, usually at smaller sizes than JPG or PNG. PNG is a lossless raster format that supports full transparency. It suits screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges, but photographs make large PNG files.

Screenshots, logos and graphics that need sharp edges, transparency or lossless re-editing.
Small files are converted in your browser and never uploaded. Larger files are converted on our servers and deleted afterwards.
Desktop, tablet, or mobile—use the same workflow on any device.

What happens to your file from upload to download.
The file type and size are checked before anything is processed, so unsupported files are rejected straight away.
Small files are converted to PNG on your device. Larger files are uploaded over HTTPS and converted with our image processing service.
Save the result to your device. Copies on our servers are deleted automatically by a cleanup job.

Step-by-step instructions for this conversion.
Add your WebP file by dragging it into the upload area or choosing it from your device.
Confirm PNG as the output format and, if offered, adjust quality or size.
Start the conversion. Small files are converted in your browser; larger ones are uploaded and converted on our servers.
Download the PNG file and check it before deleting the original.
Differences between the two formats that affect the result.
Older software, some email clients and some print workflows cannot open WebP files, which is the usual reason to convert them.
PNG is lossless, so the conversion itself will not lower quality, but it cannot bring back detail already lost in a lossy source.
PNG does not support animation, so you get a still image of the first frame rather than the whole animation.
Converting a lossy WebP to lossless PNG gives a larger file but cannot restore detail that was already discarded.
Conversions done in your browser drop embedded metadata such as camera details and GPS location. Files converted on our servers keep it, so remove location data first if that matters to you.

You download a new PNG file; your WebP file is not changed. Small files never leave your device.
Files up to about 50 MB on desktop (20 MB on mobile) are converted inside your browser, so the image is not uploaded. Larger files, low-powered devices, or a browser that cannot produce the format are handled on our servers instead: the file is uploaded over HTTPS and deleted afterwards by an automated cleanup job. See the Privacy Policy for details.

Make sure the file really is WebP (renaming an extension does not change the format) and that it opens correctly on your device. Password-protected, DRM-protected or corrupted files are rejected. If the file is very large, try again with a smaller one.
Older software, some email clients and some print workflows cannot open WebP files, which is the usual reason to convert them.
Files above the in-browser size limit, low-powered devices, and browsers that cannot decode or produce the format are handled on the server automatically. The result is the same format.
